In 1931 Roman Catholic priest and physicist Georges Lemaître suggested the universe emerged from a "primeval atom" this became the big bang theory.

Said to be originally termed in 6 BCE by Pythagoras, Cosmos which means universe, is often used to suggest an orderly or harmonious universe, hence the caliper which is used to measure circumference but also used by potters to check circumferential uniformity.

In many cultures, a human face, head or body are recognized in the disc of the full moon, with various legends attached to them. The images are created due to the appearance of the dark areas and the lighter-colored highlands of the lunar surface and humankinds' inclination to try to make sense of random shapes.
